James “Frenchie” Porritt

James Houston Porritt, age 79, passed away on March 17, 2012. He was born on May 25, 1932 in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of James Nathaniel and Dorothy Grace (Wagner) Porritt.
He was a very loving man, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. After serving in the U.S. Navy, James worked as a Marine Engineer in Alaska and as a Commercial Fisherman in Washington before going to work for the National Park Service in Washington State.
James is survived by his sister, Danaa Morris, Colville; cousin (brother), Bill Stone, Springfield, OR; daughters, Gloria Ann Hooten, Spanaway; Susan Lorraine Savo, Puyallup; sons, Edward Houston Porritt, Appleton; James Franklin Porritt, Tacoma; nine grandchildren, and numerous great- grandchildren.
He was a very generous man and will be missed by many.
A memorial for James will be held at a later date.
Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory was entrusted with the arrangements.
