James H. Horgdal Jr.

June 19, 2013

Jim was born on January 14th, 1951 to his parents, James H. Horgdal and Iris Corrienne Mills Horgdal in Centralia, and passed away on June 17, 2013 in Billings, MT. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Colville, where he spent most of his childhood with his older sister, Shari, and his younger sister, Neila.
He married Jane Thompson, his first wife, in 1968 and she soon gave birth to his first son, Michael Shane. A daughter, Teena Marie, followed.
Later, he and Jane divorced.
He soon met his second wife, Sharon Dewald, in 1971 and they were married in 1972. Shortly after, they moved to Montana to be closer to Sharon’s family, and their family started to grow with the birth of his second son, Neil Horgdal, in 1975 and his third son, John Horgdal, in 1977. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, which led to a long list of lifetime friends. Jim always enjoyed taking his family and friends camping and riding his dirt bike around the mountains of Montana. He also enjoyed making the trek back to Washington to family reunions where he could spend time with his sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom he truly loved. His family was always important to him, and he always made time for his boys to help them with their sports or just work on cars. He will be sorely missed by many, but not soon forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Iris, dad, James, son, Michael, daughter, Teena Marie, nephew, Chon Lee Peone, and several aunts and two uncles.
Jim is survived by his sons, Neil Horgdal and John Horgdal, his sisters Shari Pennell and Neila Bombaci, his nephew, Josh Pennell, and his niece, Hope Ross, and his aunts, Phyllis Davis and Joanne Bash and several cousins.
A funeral service was held in Billings, MT. and a memorial service will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane on June 21 at 11 a.m., following with celebration of Jim’s’ life at the Corbin Park Senior Center between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.
