Jerry Douglas Patterson

Jerry Douglas Patterson, 72, of Papa’aloa, Hawaii, passed away on Sept.17, 2012 in Hilo, Hawaii.
Jerry was very clear on wanting to be cremated when he passed. His wishes were carried out at the Dodo Mortuary in Hilo, Hawaii. A memorial bonfire is being planned for Oct.13, 2012. Take a moment that day and give thought to his memory, if possible!
Jerry was the middle child of Curtis and Cleo (Bo-Bo) Patterson, born on June 6. 1940 in Roswell, New Mexico. He went to school at Lovington High School, where he met and was married to Barbara Blackmon on June 14, 1958 in Lovington. They had four wonderful children, Timothy, Jimmy Glen, Brian and Edith. He owned and worked at “The Electronic Service Center” in Fresno, California.
In 1978 he married Janice Patterson and was the beloved step-,father to Daniel and Michael Morrison. Jerry then moved to Washington State with his family where he farmed for 32 years. Retirement led Jerry and Janice to Hawaii for their remaining years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Cleo; his sister, Jean Clear; his brother, Don Patterson, and his two sons, Timothy Patterson and Brian Patterson; his grand-daughter, Cynthia Patterson and his beloved double cousins, Tina Reed, JoKay Phillips and Dwight Patterson.
Jerry is survived by Janice Patterson, Barbara Patterson-Skeen; his children, Edith Witherrite, Jimmy Glen Patterson, Daniel Morrison, Michael and Bethany Morrison and his brother, Curtis and wife Janice Patterson; sisters-in-law, Lois McMillan (husband Ken McMillan) and Diane Jones.
He is also survived by his beloved double cousin, Mary Anna Burk and his dear mother-in-law, Leah L. Railton.
Grandchildren include Tim Patterson Jr., Andrea and Patrick Patterson (Nicole) and, Melissa Patterson, Casey Weidner, Matt Weidner, Andrew Witherrite, Dustin Witherrite, Catherine Morrison, Lynsey Morrison and Katelynn Morrison. Great grandchildren include Madelynn Patterson, Ethan Patterson, Abigail Patterson, Carter Witherrite, as well as many nieces, nephews and their children. They were all very precious to him and dear to his heart until the end.
Now our beloved Jerry is somewhere over the rainbow with people he loved; we will see him again someday!!!
