John L. Moore
John L. Moore, a long-time resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 14, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born on May 15, 1932 to Ed and Constance (Price) Moore in Danville.
John attended school at Deadman Creek, Boyds, and also in Kettle Falls. He moved around a lot in his earlier life. During that time, he worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Spokane, logged locally and also in Alaska.
John was best known for his farming around the Ferry County area, such as Sherman Creek, Kelly Hill, Flat Creek, Deadman Creek and the Barstow area. He loved helping his uncle Lawrence with the cows and the horses. John finally settled in Barstow while working for Braunerâ€™s Sawmill, where he eventually retired.
John loved to hunt and especially loved to fish. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and dancing at grange events. He will be missed by all who knew him and those who loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Constance Moore; stepbrother, Paul Cates; brother, Gene Moore; uncle, Lawrence Moore and aunt, Marie Moore; stepfather, Lenord (Buck) Cates, and stepdaughter, Kim Widner.
He is survived by his wife of 30-years, Marjorie Moore; his sons, Randy and Cher Moore, Mike and Leslie Moore and Barry Moore; stepbrother, Eddie Cates; stepson, Shawn LeFavour; stepdaughter, Cindi Golden; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason and Emily Moore, and great grandson, Zachariah, along with several cousins.
