Joy Ann Schutt, 76, a lifelong resident of Republic, Washing¬ton, passed away on Oct. 29, 2012 in Republic. She was born on Sept.10, 1936 in Republic to Louis and Iva (Jernburg) Lem¬beck.
Joy was born, raised and attended school in Republic and graduated from Republic High School in 1954. After graduation, she spent one year at Washington State University. In 1957, Joy married Rex Schutt in Republic and shortly after they moved to Walworth, Wisconsin. In 1964, they moved back to Re¬public where she raised her family and lived the remainder of her life.
Joy had a huge passion for the bright things in life. She was able to find joy and vivid beauty in things most everyone else would see as normal. She often portrayed this gift in her paint¬ings, pottery and crafts. Joy also spent many hours taking her dogs, Nick and Austin, on walks, exploring the canyons, flow¬ers and insects. She never had a dull moment and included her family, as much as she could, in her special adventure here on earth. She was deeply loved and will live on forever in the hearts of those that knew her.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her brothers, Wesley Dan Lembeck and Leo Louis Lembeck.
Joy is survived by her husband, Rex; daughter, Robin Schutt, Cantonment, FL; her two sons, Loren and Jeffery Sallee, Van¬couver; sons Ron Schutt, American Falls, Idaho, and his son, Colby, Richmond, VA; Roger and Oralia Schutt and their chil¬dren, Jordan and Tiffani, American Falls; Ryan and Magda Schutt and step-son, Kyle, Eugene, OR; brother Max and Peggy Lembeck, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Joy was held Nov. 3 at the Church Of The Redeemer in Republic. Joy was laid to rest in Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
