Kenneth Rochon

March 11, 2014

Kenneth Charles Rochon, a long-time resident of Colville, passed away on Feb. 27, 2014 at the age of 54. He was born in Everett to Charles and Mary (Scanlon) Rochon on July 14, 1959.
Ken started school at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic School in Everett until the sixth grade, when his family moved to Granite Falls. He later graduated from Granite Falls High School.
He met Judy Bauman at the age of 13 during a time when her family helped him learn about farming. Ken and Judy started dating during high school, even though they attended rival schools. It did not matter what school they went to—they were in love. Ken and Judy both graduated in 1977 and they married on Jan. 12, 1979.
The couple started their family together in Granite Falls, where he managed a local chicken farm and worked as a volunteer firefighter. They moved to Colville in 1988 with their three young children.
Ken worked as a bus driver for the Colville School District for many years and enjoyed doing so. He also was a collector of many things. His favorite things to collect were toys and hats. He collected hats from all over the place, but his collection started from the early days on the chicken farm from a hat that a truck driver gave him.
Ken always had an entertaining story that would bring smiles to people’s faces. He liked to tinker on all kinds of things as he went about his days.
Ken had a great love for his family. He always enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to take them camping and boating.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, Colville; his three children, Benjaman Rochon, Colville; Matthew Rochon, Colville; and Laura Martin and husband, Joshua, Colville; his parents, Charles and Mary, Spokane; his siblings, Don Revolinski (Mary) Seattle; Pam Revolinski Spokane; Rosanne Campbell (Ray) Granite Falls; Carolyn Diedrich (Ken) Lake Stevens; Brian Rochon (Cielo) Spokane; Colleen DeMarsico (Luke) Spokane; Rob Rochon (Mary Beth) Lansing, KS; Mark Rochon (Michelle) Spokane; Monica Charter (Mike) Spokane and 20 nieces and nephews.
A Rosary for Ken will be held on Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church in Colville, followed by a memorial mass at 11 a.m.
