Lake Roosevelt Commercial Use Authorizations

February 22, 2012

Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is introducing a new permit program to enhance collaboration with area commercial service providers and to comply with National Park Service regulations.
Beginning in 2012, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area will issue Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs), which are limited authorizations to provide specific commercial visitor service activities within the boundaries of the area.
Examples of persons required to obtain a CUA include fishing guides, tour operators and boat recovery operators.
“A commercial visitor service activity is any or all goods, activities, services, agreements, or anything offered to park visitors and/or the general public for recreational purposes which uses park resources and is offered for a fee,†explained spokeswoman, Marsha Buchanan. “This program will replace the previous NPS incidental business permit program.â€
Persons already providing services are encouraged to apply for a permit for the 2012 calendar year. Requirements of the program will be annual reporting and providing proof of insurance. No permit fees will be charged in 2012.
If you have questions about this program or would like to apply for a CUA, contact Lake Roosevelt NRA Commercial Services Program, Attention: Commercial Services Program Office, 1008 Crest Drive, Coulee Dam Washington 99116. You may also contact us via email at marsha_buchanan@nps.gov.
