Lawrence Leaden

February 21, 2012

Lawrence Russell Leaden passed away unexpectedly at his home on Feb. 13. Larry, as he was known by all, was born May 16, 1948 in Rossland, B.C. Canada to Howard and Dorothy Leaden and was raised in Northport on the family farm.
Larry was an amazing and proud father and had a huge heart. He cared about people. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his daughter. As a friend, he could not be faulted. He did his best to help out anyone that asked for his help and was always honored when they asked him for it.
Larry was known for many things in life. He loved living on the farm as a child and young adult and having his extended family visit on many occasions. He was close with his brother, even though they didn’t always see eye to eye. They were as close as any brothers could have been and had a bond that even death cannot take away.
He became a father in April 1985 and shortly thereafter moved with his then wife, Lynne, to Kettle Falls. They resided there until he and Gail relocated to his hometown of Northport in 1997 to be closer to his mother and family friends. He lived in Northport until his passing.
In recent years, he could be seen driving around town in his red truck or walking his dog Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard, and by his brother, and best friend, John Leaden.
Larry is survived by his loving mother, Dorothy of Colville; his adoring daughter, Gail of Spokane; a nephew, Michael (Heidi) and family; an uncle, John Irvin of Rossland (Mickey) and nu¬merous cousins and friends.
A memorial will be held at the CE Building in Northport on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. A potluck will follow. Please come join the family in remembering and celebrating his life.
In lieu of flowers, Gail and Dorothy are requesting that dona¬tions be made to the Northport Medical Clinic for all the care and support they have given Larry throughout the years.
