Linda Rogers McFarland

November 7, 2012

Linda Gene Rogers was born on June 17, 1949 in Seattle on June 17, 1949 to Donald and Dorothy Rogers, with an older sister and ultimately, a younger brother.
On Nov. 3, 2012, at 3:45 p.m., my loving wife, Lindy, went home to Jesus from multiple cancers. Her lifelong uncondi¬tional, and total faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, completely carried her through two previous bouts with this dread disease and back to health. This time, the disease would not be denied.
Linda was kind, loving, gentle, generous and always there with her trademark smile, cheerful demeanor to help, or ability to give sustenance and comfort to anyone, stranger or not. She loved life and all the creatures that shared it with her. She would rescue a kitten along the road or a lost dog wandering the road (and more often than not was able to return it to its owner).
Her main purpose in life was raising our two children, Bre¬anna Jean, and Jeremiah Jesse. Both were born in her for¬ties in perfect health and beauty.
Both share her love, and natural talent with animals.
She graduated from Shorecrest High School in 1967 and attended Shoreline CC, then Washington State University briefly. She then responded to a call from the Lord to do mission work in Hawaii. From there, she moved to California to work for a Christian music production company. From there, she at¬tended Hal Lindsey's Bible College. After that she started her favorite job at the Los Angeles Marriott Hotel as a waitress for five years, where she made many friends among workers and customers with her warmth, sweet nature, and her ability to sense when somebody needed a kind word. People would ask her why she was so happy all the time. She always witnessed for Jesus Christ as the source of her joy.
She is survived by husband of 22 ½ years, Brehon McFar¬land, and daughter, Breanna, 19; son, Jeremiah, 17, all at the family home in Kettle Falls; her sister, Carol Odom (Bob) of Redmond; her brother, Gary Rogers of Spokane; step-sons, Ian McFarland, Vacaville, CA; and Reid McFarland (Kathy) Kalispel, MT; nephews, Jason and Chris Odom, Seattle; niece, Alicia Rogers Shulz (Josh) of Los Angles; nephew, Brandon Rogers, Seattle, and two step-granchildren, and a grand¬nephew, as well as numerous cousins.
Funeral service will be held at the Colville Free Methodist Church, 336 E. 1st Avenue. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m., with a graveside service immediately following at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville. Rev. Dickinson will officiate.
Time of visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville.
If one so wishes, memorial contributions may be made in Linda’s name to the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary, or to the Colville Food Bank.
