Lorene Driskill

February 27, 2013

Lorene Driskill, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on Feb. 15, 2013. She was born to Ferman Ledford and Orlena McCormic on April 2, 1938 in Batesville, AR.
Lorene was raised and attended school in Monroe. Later, she earned her certificate for Executive Secre¬tary/Bookkeeper. Life introduced her to John Driskill and they were wed on March 5, 1956 in Goldbar.
Lorene loved to go for long drives which complimented the many spontaneous road trips she and John enjoyed with their family. Lorene lived for her children and would do any¬thing for them. Her love didn’t stop with her family. Because of her love for animals, her heart and her cat food went out to any hungry stray that came to her house at mealtime. That would explain her choice for her Patron Saint --St. Assisi.
Lorene enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores and tending to her garden. She also had a love for roses. Especially, for those that came from a loved one. There was a time when she loved to go dancing. She and John spent countless hours to¬gether on the dance floor.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, John Driskill; daughter, Kathy Driskill Campbell, and grandson, John Dop¬penberg.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Hamel (Ron Davis) of Colville; Donna West (Bob Bridges) of Spo¬kane; her brother, David Ledford of Batesville; grandchil¬dren, Jeramy Hegney, Justin Hegney, Kristina Goodson, Ben¬jahmin West; great- grandchild, Trai Beauchane.
A Vigil service for Mrs. Lorene Driskill, was held on Feb. 22, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Feb. 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kettle Falls. The graveside service followed at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Humane Society.
