Loretta McManus

Loretta Mae (Malicoat) McManus passed away April 26, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Colville at the age of 81. She was born December 14, 1931 in Emmett, Idaho to her loving parents, Oscar and Nancy R. (Malicoat) Voyce.Loretta grew up in Puyallup. The family moved to Klickitat where she graduated from Klickitat High School in 1949. Loretta lived in numerous places, but settled in Olympia in 1958. She was a proud member of the musicians union and will always be remembered as an accomplished pianist and how she enjoyed music, singing, and entertaining. She was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post 318 where she had many wonderful and close friends. It was through the VFW that she took pleasure in volunteering and serving the community. She was an excellent cook and her family and friends always looked forward to her homemade cooking, especially her homemade potato and macaroni salads and her layered banana pudding.After a stroke, Loretta moved to Buena Vista Senior Housing Center in Colville to be closer to her daughter, Cindy. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. McManus; by her brother, Odell Malicoat; and her parents, Oscar and Nancy (Malicoat) Voyce. Loretta is survived by her son, Stephen Willmott and his wife Sue of Washougal; her daughter, Cindy (Willmott) Bugg and her husband Kirk of Rice; her son, Ralph Stewart and his wife Angie of Seattle, WA; and stepdaughter, Shari (Behrends) Sutphin and her husband Bill of Olympia.Loretta has several wonderful grandchildren, Jacqueline of Chehalis; Ginger of Anacortes; Kyle of Olympia; Shanda of Kettle Falls; Luke of Silverdale; Shaina of Bremerton; April of Olympia; and Brandy of Olympia. She also loved and enjoyed numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.A graveside service will be held at Mills & Mills Memorial Park Cemetery, 5725 Little Rock Road SW, Tumwater on Wednesday, May 29 at 2 p.m.Mom always had a special love for unwanted animals.
