Louise Marie Paine, a longtime resident of the Northport area, passed away on May 12, 2011 in Colville at the age of 81. Louise was born on June 11, 1929 in Colville, the daughter of John and Mary (Chopot) Beusan.
She attended school at the “Old Marcus” School House and then completed her education as a 1947 graduate of Northport High School. She then worked for Dr. Hardwick in Colville before moving to Western Washington. While in Western Washington, Louise worked as a civilian clerk at the Whidbey Naval Station. Louise eventually returned to Northport to care for her mother.
On June 18, 1987, Louise married Arthur Paine in Northport. Together they resided in the Northport at the home where Louise was raised. Louise loved small animals especially her pet cats. She also enjoyed her time at home caring for the needs of her home and family.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Louise was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of the Alter Society. As a young girl, Louise traveled the train from Marble to Northport every Sunday to attend Mass. She enjoyed working outside and took great care of her yard. She was always family oriented and offered them her unconditional love. Louise often reminisced about her time shared with grandchildren and memories of her childhood at the Marble orchards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by a brother and by a grandson, Joel Nichols.
