Margaret Hallgreen

March 6, 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Hallgeen announces her passing at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane on Feb. 27, 2013.
Margaret was the third child born to Matt and Cora Urhausen and was a lifelong resident of the Marcus and Kettle Falls areas. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Marcus. The work ethic she learned as a child remained with her for the rest of her life. She worked at Mt. Carmel Hospital, in Colville faithfully for 32 years. She found such a great joy taking care of the newborn babies and looked forward to each new day. Margaret's love of gardening was legendary and she never could pass up a ripe huckleberry patch. But her greatest outdoor passion was fishing, especially at Lake Ellen with her sister Anne.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Robert; brothers John and Matty Urhausen; sister Helen Worsham and grandson, Bruce Putnam.
Margaret will lovingly be remembered by her family. She leaves behind her son Marvin (Donna) Hallgreen, Newman Lake; step-grandsons, Michael Pendergraft, John, Hogan, and Robert Wrixon; daughter, Marilyn (Garey) Norgard, Spokane; grand-daughter, Sandy (Mike) Hartman, Medical Lake; great-grandsons, Nicholas and Erik; brothers Mike and Bob Urhausen, Kettle Falls; sisters Anne Gourlie; Kettle Falls; Stella Shaw, Priest River, ID; Betty Borowic, Sacramento, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a pillar in her community and a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Parish, in Kettle Falls. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service for Margaret will begin with a Rosary at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville on Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 9 at Sacred Heart Parish in Kettle Falls.
Please visit the online memorial and sign the guest book at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.
