Marion Grace Clark, longtime resident of the Kettle Falls area, passed away on July 17, 2012 in her home at the age of 80. Marion was born on July 4, 1932 in Republic, the daughter of Ralph Thomas and Bessie (Edwards) Mellor.
She attended school in Republic and graduated as a 12-year senior in 1950. Marion later moved to Wenatchee and worked in the packing houses during the harvest season. While there, she began a family. They relocated to the Kettle Falls area in the mid-1960’s.
On July 4, 1969, Marion married Gary Clark in Kettle Falls. Together they resided in the Inchelium area, where Marion served as a volunteer EMT. Several years later, Marion and Gary moved to Arden, residing there for only a short time before settling in the Kelly Hill area.
Marion and Gary ran a commercial fishing business for over twenty-two years. During that time, they fished for salmon and tuna in the costal waters off of Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California. Marion piloted the “Lara C,” but was also a hard working deck hand when needed.
Marion enjoyed knitting, crochet, and quilting. She cherished her time with family and friends, and the lifelong relationships that were fostered. Marion had a very giving character and found true joy in offering what she could to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Marion is survived by her husband, Gary Clark, at the home; children, Roberta West and husband, George, Newport; Randy Elms, Portland, OR; Sandra Martin, Wenatchee; Chuck Johnson and Lenny Johnson, both of Keller; Lara Olsen, Ft.
