May Adeline Bonds

March 19, 2014

May Adeline Bonds passed away March 9, 2014 in Colville at the age of 85. She was born on January 5, 1929 to Harold and Claire Davis in Mason City, Iowa.
May worked as a nurse at Pinewood in Colville for over a decade. She worked in the infectious skin disease control area. May also took on the challenge to create the Certified Nurse’s Aide Training Program. After the State of Washington approved the program, she taught the class and took great pride in each student’s success. The program she created is still being used to this day.
May loved to spend time with her family. She always had a house full of kids, mostly friends of her children, and granddaughters Teanne and Kayla McGovern. Her house was always the place to hang out or spend the night. She always made you feel at home when you were there.
May is survived by five children Alan McGovern, Kathy Dimas and Gidget McGovern all of Colville; Mark (Rocky) and Mathew McGovern of Stockton, CA; three sisters, Jane, Ruth and Glenda; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children, and six great-great grand children. May was able to achieve the honor of five-generation status during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max Bonds; brother, Sam; sister Rena; sons Danny McGovern of Stockton, CA; Michael McGovern of Spokane, and great granddaughter, Tiffany.
Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck dinner and celebration of life on Sunday, March 23 from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Logger in Colville.
Please go online to www.danekasfuneralchapel.com to sign the guestbook. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
