Mildred Elizabeth Ensor, a longtime resident of Colville, passed away on May 19, 2011 in Colville at the age of 76. She was born on November 22, 1934 in Colville, the daughter of Herman Henry and Myrtle Emma (Clark) Rasching.
Mildred was raised in Northern Stevens County, but attended high school for a short time at Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane. She then moved to Northport where she graduated from high school. Mildred worked throughout her high school years to help her family make ends meet. She later married and lived on a farm where she worked hard as a homemaker taking care of the needs of her family. In the middle 1970â€™s, Mildred began to work in restaurants and a sewing factory before she found her joy serving those who needed help as an in-home caregiver.
Mildred loved to spend time gardening and reading her books. Her greatest joy was cooking meals and baking the most wonderful desserts for her family.
Mildredâ€™s endless love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings, Lena Rasching, Lester Rasching, Chester Rasching, Ernest Rasching, Catherine Rolstad and Arthur Rasching.
She is survived by her son Earl Ensor of Colville; her daughter Linda Nelson and husband John of Mullan, ID, her sister Clara Rice and husband Carl of Addy; her brothers Norman Rasching of Heppner, OR and Louis Heppner of Heppner, OR her step granddaughter Lindsay Nelson and many nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Mildred was at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 24 at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
The Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Colville was entrusted with arrangements.
