Olga Lydia Carter
Olga Lydia Carter passed away on Nov. 20, 2011 at the age of 94. She was born on April 6, 1917 in Gifford, Idaho, the daughter of Henry and Meta (Stelljes) Dehning. Olga attended school in Lewiston, Idaho, then moved to Rubens, Idaho where she met Eldon Carter. The two were married in 1936. Olga and Eldon moved to Colville in 1940, and she and her husband started a garage in the present Empire Auto Parts location in 1943. In 1946, Mr. and Mrs. Carter began construction of the building to house Eldon Carter Motors, a Rambler and Toyota dealership now known as Carter Toyota.In her spare time, Olga enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers, sewing, staying at the lake cabin on Lake Sherry, and most of all, spending time with her family.Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; by brother, Richard Dehning; a sister, Hedwig Hanks, and by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Laird and husband Ken, Colville; Ronna Kinder and husband Bill, Colville; Wson Marv Carter and wife Joan, Colville; grandchildren, Scott Carter and wife Lori, Colville; Kirk Pierce and wife Karen, Colville; Sean Pierce and wife Julie, Colville; Randy Vaughn and wife Kim, Se¬attle; Lynn Greenman and husband Steve, Colville; Kim Loveall and husband Tim, Spokane; Shelly Aase and husband Eric, Spokane; Bryan Vaughn, Seattle; great-grandchildren, Melanie Vaughn, Issaquah; Christie Bushnell and husband Jason, Spokane; Angela Vaagen and husband Kurtis, Colville; Nicole, Lane, Ryan, Kasey, and Karson Pierce, Colville; Jennifer Matt and husband Phillip, Spanaway; Shawn Greenman, Pullman; Zachary Loveall, Spokane; Katelyn Loveall, Pullman; and three great-great- grandchildren.
