Paula McDougal was born Feb. 5, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She moved to the Kettle Falls area in her early twenties with her husband, Steve, and her daughter, Tisha. She had two more children here, Jessica and Jeremy, and made many, many friends in this area before moving back to Albuquerque. After her children were grown, Paula moved back to Kettle Falls to be with her friends. Paula was always the life of the party. She would do or give anything she had to her friends. She was a good cook and everyone liked eating at Paula’s. One of her favorite things was talking to her mother every morning on the phone and hearing all the news about her family. Paula died on Feb. 27 at her home. She is survived by her parents, John and Vivian Clark, Albuquerque; her two daughters, Tisha Romero, and Jessica Brooks, and by her nine grandchildren: Arielle Romero, Haelee Romero, Jacob Romero, Jaidyn Lucero, Isabella Romero, Alijah Romero, Mariah Brooks, Erin Fritz and Gaige Brooks; two sisters, Merideth Dressler and Connie Warren; by her three nephews, Kriss Dressler, Cody Warren and Chase Warren, and by her best buddy, her dog, Bruiser. Paula was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy and by her two brothers, Pete and John Clark. A memorial service was held for Paula on March 3 at the Kettle River Grange. She will have a memorial service in Albuquerque with her family. Paula loved animals, so any donations can go to Colville Pet Rescue, (509) 675-8484.
