Ray Liebman

January 17, 2014

Ray was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Battleground to Marion and Clara Liebman. He passed away Jan. 2, 2014 in Walla Walla at the age of 86.
Ray was a proud veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy both in the Pacific and Atlantic conflicts as a ship’s electrician.
After the war, he moved to the Northport area and met his wife Joanne. They married in 1947. He worked many years in the zinc and lead mines, logged and farmed near the home he built at Black Canyon.
He enjoyed fun get-togethers with family and friends at the cabin that he and his wife built at Deep Lake, where they fished and relaxed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne, and by his youngest son, Rick.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Joanne) Liebman, Kettle Falls; daughter, Patty (Greg) Mathews, Walla Walla; daughter-in-law, Laura Liebman, Colville; and a half-sister, Shirley (Bob) Raney, Kelso, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
As was his wish, there will be no funeral service.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
