Ronald Lee Holland passed away in Colville on June 16, 2013. He was born the son of James Allen and Laura Mary (Cooper) Holland on June 29, 1961 in Colville. Ron atÂŹtended and graduated from Kettle Falls High School, Class of 1979. Following high school, Ron was employed by Northwest Wood Products in Kettle Falls. In 2002, Ron changed careers and went to work for United Parcel Service.
Ron had a true passion for cars, new or old; he enÂŹjoyed them all. He loved to drive. Being out on the road made him truly happy. Ron enjoyed restoring vehicles; he built a 1977 ChevÂŹrolet Step-Side Pickup and a 1974 Maverick, just to name a couple. When not at work, Ron could be seen heading south on Highway 395 in his Ford Mustang on his way to the casino.
He had many profitable visits to the casino, and enÂŹjoyed his winnings by remodeling his house, purchasing new appliances for his home, or even new chrome wheels for his Mustang. At one time, he purchased a raffle ticket for $1 at a car show in Spokane and won a 1966 Corvette Stingray Convertible.
Ron was truly a lucky man, not just from his winnings at raffles and casino trips, but by being surrounded by his loving, caring, and supportive family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, James and Laura Holland, and by his nephew, Curt âFishâ Young.
He is survived by his sons, Kyle Holland, Kettle Falls; Travis Holland, wife Shelbi and their children, Landen and Emmett, Colville; brothers Marvin Holland and wife Linda, Kettle Falls; Floyd âSkipâ Holland and wife Ruby, Oakesdale; sisters Marie Young, Kettle Falls; Donna Holland, Kettle Falls; Georgia Blankenship and husband Melvin, Kettle Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
A celebration of Ronâs life will be held at 3 p.m. on WednesÂŹday, June 26 at the Ag-Trade Center in Colville, with a potluck dinner to follow.
