Ronna Jean Carter went to Heaven on Sept. 1, 2012 at the age of 67. Ronna was born on Sept. 4, 1944 in Colville, the daughter of Eldon and Olga Lydia (Dehning) Carter. She graduated as a twelve-year senior of Colville High School in 1962. On June 21, 1963, Ronna married Fred Pierce. They had two sons, Kirk and Sean. The family lived in Colville and later built a home on 20 acres in Arden. There, Ronna had horses that she loved to spend time riding and taught the boys to ride. They enjoyed riding with her until they found that they liked motorcycles better. On April 9, 1988, Ronna and Bill Kinder were married. They moved to Nevada for a time where she worked as an equipment and vehicle parts carrier. On the weekends, Ronna assisted at the local western clothing store. In 1994, she and Bill returned to the Arden community near Colville, where they have resided since. After returning to Colville, Ronna worked as an insurance clerk for several years at both Garringer and Farmers Insurance. Ronna loved animals of all kinds. Her dogs brought her great happiness. At her home, she and Bill had Spike and Cage. She loved horses and loved to ride when she was younger. Ronna was so proud that her grand-daughters, Kacie and Karsyn, both got horses. Ronna enjoyed the outdoors, camping and adventures. When she lived in Nevada, Kirk and Sean would meet her halfway and they would all go whitewater rafting. She rode snowmobiles and 4-wheelers out at the Little Pend Oreille Lakes. Ronna loved to decorate her house for all of the holidays. It was one of her greatest pleasures to have the yard, the porch and the house fully decorated.Ronna lived for her grandchildren. They were her proudest accomplishment and her greatest joy. She loved to watch them at their activities, and whatever they were doing, she was there to support them. She clipped their pictures out of the local paper and proudly showed them to everyone she could. She loved to have the kids spend the weekend with her. She would stock up on all of their favorite foods so that she could spoil them. She was many things to many people, but her favorite thing in life was to be called Grandma.Ronna was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eldon and Olga Carter. She is survived by her husband, Bill Kinder, at their home; sister, Pat Laird and her husband, Ken; brother, Marv Carter and his wife, Joan; sons, Kirk Pierce and his wife Karin, Sean Pierce and his wife Julie; grandchildren, Kacie, Karsyn, Nichole, Lane and Ryan Pierce, all of Colville.A memorial service and ash committal for Ronna Carter will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville.
