Shirley McIrvin

Shirley Ilene (Deming) McIrvin was born Feb. 11, 1923 to Frank Aaron Deming and Amy Rose (Anderson) Deming of Bemidji, Minn. In 1932, she moved to Forest Grove, OR, where she graduated high school June, 1941.
On August 24, 1941, she married Robert Chapman McIrvin. Together they had four children: Terry born 1943, Peggy 1947, Jack 1949, and Don in 1951.
When Robert was discharged from the Army in November 1945, he and Shirley moved to Laurier. There they devoted their lives to working on the Diamond M Ranch. Shirley enjoyed gardening, canning, painting ceramics, being a member of the Cowbelles, volunteering at the museum, socializing and spending time with her friends and family.
Shirley went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 25t.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sons Terry and Jack and great-grand-daughter, Stephanie.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Daniels, Kettle Falls; son Don, Laurier. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at the Laurier Cemetery on Sept. 2 at 5 p.m., and a memorial and dinner to follow at the Ag. Trade Center in Colville at 7 p.m.
Family asks that any friends and neighbors join them, bring their memories and enjoy dinner as we celebrate Shirley’s life.
