Sonia Thornburg

Sonia Sue Thornburg, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on August 5, 2014 at the age of 62. She was born on August 4, 1952 in Colville to Melvin and Clara (Cooper) Thornburg.
Sonia received her education in Kettle Falls and later on moved to Spokane where she attended trade school. She became a CNA and enjoyed working with the older people in SpoÂŹkane, Davenport, Chewelah and Colville. Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing, embroidering and working in the yard. Sonia had a gift for being the life of the party and especially enjoyed singing and being with her nieces and nephews.
Sonia is preceded in death by her parent’s and by her brother, Vern Thornburg.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carrie Ann McBride, Centralia; and Elizabeth June McBride, Spokane; her siblings, Melvin (Pat) Thornburg, Wellpinit; Lola Gumm, Kettle Falls; George (Marie) Thornburg, Fruitland; Sharon Yepa, Reardan; Peg (Ed) Frostad, Kettle Falls; Rick Thornburg, Kettle Falls; her three grandchildren, Jaslyne Swanson, Kenzie Swanson and Baily Angle, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary was held on August 11, followed by a Memorial Mass on August 12.
Both service was held at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Fruitland.
