Susan Adams

December 8, 2011

Susan Elizabeth Adams, born Feb. 14, 1942 in Colburn, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 26, 2011.
She was the beloved mother of Kathleen Coffin and Jennifer Adams. Susan raised her girls as a single parent. She will always be admired by her children and being a mother and a father to both of them.
Susan worked mainly in the restaurant business to support her family. She will be remembered as a hard worker and outstanding cook in our family. Sue loved having a good time. Her friends were a mainstay in her life. She was known to love a good party, great music and was a wonderful dancer.
Sue, Cozy Rickers, Judy Schwartzenhaver and Artie Bates were famous friends for life. They had a sisterhood that was admired. Susan traveled and lived in many places, but she always considered Northport her home, and she always returned there.
Susan lived out her Golden Years in Colville to be close to her children and grandchildren, who were the apples of grandma’s eyes. Her girls tended to her and took care of her, as she had taken care of them.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Elizabeth Montague and George Whatley; her daughters, Kathleen (Stan) Coffin and Jennifer Adams; her grandchildren, Eric, Cory, and Amanda Coffin; her sisters, Patricia (Dale) Brandley, Shara George and her brother, Richard (Rikki) Montague. She was a favorite aunt to three generations of nieces, nephews and friend to so many.
Susan was preceded in death by her Father, William Barrtlett, and by sister Tina Klauder and close friends Persha (Cookie) Hill and Pam Anderson.
She will always be remembered fondly.
A special heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at LCTU Nursing Home for our mother’s wonderful care and to Addus Healthcare for her in home care.
There will be no funeral. She will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held sometime this spring.
