Thelma Floener

Thelma V. Floener, a 52-year resident of Colville, passed away June 27, 2014 at her home in Colville at the age of 74. She was born on Sept. 8, 1939 in Waterville, the daughter of Walter and Vera (Ogle) Schneider.
Thelma was raised and attended school in Waterville. She was a 1958 graduate of Waterville High School. Following high school, she moved Spokane, where she attended Kinman Busi­ness College. It was there that she met her husband to be, Larry Floener, on a blind date. They they have been together since their wedding on July 16, 1961.
She worked for a broker­age firm in Spokane for a time and they moved to Colville in 1962. In addition to raising four sons, she worked as a retail clerk and bookkeeper in Colville at the T.V. Center. She also worked at Rambles Sport Shop and later at the Sears Catalog Store before retiring.
Thelma enjoyed Snowbirding in Arizona, bowling and time spent in her home and garden. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society.
Thelma is survived by her husband, Larry Floener, at the home; sons, Joe Floener and wife, Vicky, Colville; Mike Floener and wife, Pam, Colville; Pat Floener, Colville; Tim Floener and wife, Kerri, Colville; sis­ter, Esther McFarland, Renton; brothers, Ellis Schneider and wife, Lucille, Waterville; Howard Schneider and wife, Joy, Waterville; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 2 at the Immaculate Conception Church. The fu­neral mass will follow at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 3, with cremation following the mass.
Memorials may be given to Hos­pice of Spokane.
