Don Luellan of Colville Masonic Lodge #50 helps a student from Mrs. Beardslee’s kindergar¬ten class at Hofstetter Elementary pick out a stuffed puppy toy for the Dogs for Kids program. The plush toys are designed to be a teaching tool for children by encourag¬ing them to use their imaginations by reading to, and writing notes to their new “pets.” The toys will remain at school until the child graduates to first grade. “Kids are very imaginative, and that should be encouraged because it is a great way to learn,” said Colville Mason Richard MacGillivray.
