Roberta “Robin” J. Fine, a 21-year resident of Kettle Falls, passed away on May 10 in Colville, at the age of 70. She was born on August 25, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Harold and Betty (Parker) Weber. Robin moved quite often with her family as she grew up. She attended school in Los Angeles, Long Beach, CA, and Guam before finishing her high school in San Francisco, CA. She was a 1955 graduate of Lowell High School. She found her niche early as a collections specialist/manager and spent her entire working career in this field. Robin resided for a time in Ohio before returning to California and eventually moving to Washington. While in Washington, Robin resided in Everett and Vancouver where she met Monty Keith Fine in 1985. They were married on March 14, 1987 in Everett, which was followed by her move to Kettle Falls. She worked at the N.E. Washington Medical Clinic and retired in 2004. Robin loved to travel and she enjoyed many cruises and trips with Keith until her failing health required they stay closer to home. She attended many concerts and movies and was an avid True Crime reader. At work, Robin was a very successful collector, but at home she was a prolific giver. She found great joy in giving gifts to others for any reason. Robin also enjoyed visiting with others and shopping. She always kept her individuality and took great pride in her appearance. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Monty Keith Fine, at the home; mother-in-law, Verna Walsh of Kettle Falls; daughter, Traci Pederson, and her husband Steve, Burlington; granddaughter, Dana Winters, Everett; sister, Diane Kamaroff, Seattle; step-daughter, Kelli Fine, and her husband Anthony Armintrout, Vancouver; step-son, Brian Fine, and his wife Tracy, Reno, NV; step-granddaughter, Heather Fine, Chesapeake, VA. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17 at the Kettle Falls American Legion Hall. Memorial contributions may be given to the Union Gospel Mission or to any local animal humane organization. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge the arrangements.
