Bud Kovalchik of Colville is the big winner in the Statesman-Examiner’s annual Photo Contest. Several hundred photos were submitted to this year’s contest. Judges report that voting was difficult, but it’s tough to turn down a bull moose eating lilly pads at the edge of a lake. The S-E will run the second and third place photos next week. Many of the photos will appear in subsequent editions of the S-E and in companion publications like Panorama Country.
