Kettle Falls, Inchelium alums will play football Print E-mail

Alumni game will be part
of Town & Country Days

BY CHRIS COWBROUGH

After a hiatus of several years, alumni football is back.
    No, not in Colville.
Kettle Falls and Inchelium High alums will square off in an alumni football game on Friday, June 6 at the Kettle Falls High School football field.  Game time is 7 p.m.
According to Kettle alumni football spokesman and player, Shane Fox, the game will be 11-man.  Inchelium High School plays eight-man football, but the Hornets’ alums don’t have a problem going 11-man, according to Fox.
“It should be a lot of fun,”  said the former KFHS standout and KFHS football defensive coach.  “We haven’t done this for a few years.  Hopefully, with it being part of Town & Country Days, we can get a lot of people out to watch.”
The last time the two schools squared off, the Inchelium alums won handily.
Fox said that Colville High School was given an opportunity to serve as Kettle’s opposition.  But they declined.  Colville hasn’t fielded an alumni football team in well over a decade.
Fox said that former Kettle Falls High players interested in playing in the alumni game should attend a meeting on Sun¬day, June 1 at the Kettle Falls High football field.  The meeting will start at 5 p.m.
For more information, call Fox at 680-3501 or Kettle Falls High School football coach Curtis Corvino at 690-7005.
Inchelium alums interested in playing can call Inchelium High football coach Brian Myers at 680-0556.
