The annual Stevens County Cattleman’s Trail Ride will take place on Saturday, June 28 beginning at 9 a.m.  The starting point will be near the Meadow Lake Campground, 19 miles north of Colville.  Take Highway 20 East from Colville, turn north on Aladdin Road (at the airport), go 18 miles to Meadow Creek Road. Turn right and follow the signs to the trailhead.  The ride will be on the Colville National Forest and will end at the Smackout Meadow corrals on the Dawson Ranch Forest Service grazing allotment.  Stevens County Cattlemen will provide lunch at approximately 1 p.m.  For those not able to ride, but who would still like to join the Cattlemen for lunch, just continue north on Aladdin to Smack¬out Road, turn right and follow the signs four miles to the corrals.  Riders can return to the starting point horseback, or the Cattlemen will provide a shuttle service back to the trail¬ers.  “Anyone and everyone are invited to take part, even political candidates and local politicians,”  commented spokesman, John Dawson.  For more information, call John Daw¬son (684-5780), Jeff Dawson (684-0888) or Don Dashiell (722-3035).
