    LOON LAKE—The topic of the annual Northeast Washing¬ton Farm Forestry Association summer field tour is Forest Landowners: Emerging Oppor¬tunities in Tough Economic Times.
    The tour will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 16 at the Loon Lake Conservancy prop¬erty.  Directions: From Highway 395, turn west on Highway 292 and look for the NEWFFA sign within a half-mile of Highway 395.  Park along the railroad tracks on the south side of Highway 292.
    Coffee, juice and donuts will be provided.
    Two to three nearby locations will be toured.  Those sites show different methods of harvesting and slash disposal, according to spokesman, Matt Hobbs.
    From Loon Lake, the tour will head to a Northeast Washington Farm Forestry landowner’s property.  Along the route, there will be  self-guided tour high¬lighting different timber man¬agement and forest issues.  For¬esters will be available to an¬swer questions and take part in discussions at the different stops.
    Lunch will be BYOS (bring your own sack).  Water and soda will be provided.  Refills for water will be available for per¬sonal use bottles so (BYOWB—bring your own water bottle).
