Musikgarten classes are now registering at Pancoast School of Music for ages 16 months through age 8. New classes start Sept. 2. Musikgarten was developed by the leading experts in the child development field for the last 25 years, especially by Dr. Lorna Heyge and Montesorri expert Audrey Sillick. Musik¬garten is widely taught in the United States, Canada, Africa, Europe and Asia. The program starts with classes for babies and continues with classes for babies and continues with classes for toddlers, pre-schoolers and elementary school children. According to Brandy and Ted Pancoast, children start with simple rhythm instru¬ments and advance to the glockenspiel and then to the piano as they progress through the classes. They also sing and dance as part of their daily de¬velopment. “The classes are designed to build musicianship in all areas of music hearing, feeling, playing and reading,” The Pancoast’s say. “That allows the children to excel in music as well as in other areas.” Musikgarten classes are Family Music (ages 16 months to 3.5 years) on Mondays from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.; Cycle of Seasons (ages 3-5) on Mon¬days from 1-1:45 p.m.; Music Makers Level 1 (ages 4.5-7) on Tuesday’s from 3 to 4 p.m.; and the following pre-piano class (Music Makers Level (II) from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Pancoast School of Music offers beginner, intermediate and advanced instruction in piano, guitar, theory and teacher training.
