Virgil Austin Jr.

Virgil Austin Taylor Jr. passed away Sept. 9 at the age of 79. He was born in Pueblo, CO on Feb. 20, 1932 and had been a 30-year resident of Stevens County. Funeral service was held Sept. 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colville. He was laid to rest at Rice. A loving husband and father, he was preceded in death by his son, Jon E. Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lura E. Taylor, and five children: Debra S. Dickinson, Tyra L. Taylor, Sandra K. Sattler, Erin L. Belmont and Matthew T. Taylor. He was the grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 10. His life was filled with many achievements, including Minor League Baseball, contracting, architecture, furniture making and woodworking (many awards). His love for the outdoors showed in his later years with his garden structures and gazebos. He is loved and missed by all.
