Winter artisans' market wants you

The European Kitchen is a vendor at this winter's North Country Artisans' Market.

For those lamenting the end of the farmer’s market season, do not despair. The North Country Artisans’ Market (NCAM) is picking up where the Northeast Washington and Colville Farmers’ Markets left off. Vendors, merchants and artisans will be plying their wares inside the November Coalition at 282 West Astor Avenue, Colville every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Dec. 21.
Though last Wednesday’s market was relatively small, event organizer Sonia Christen says the event is still new and will hopefully grown as word spreads.
“Right now, we have a minimum of 12 vendors signed up to be here any Wednesday,” says Christen. “We would appreciate more though. Artists, crafters, produce, bakers, massage, farmers, you name it. We are trying to build on it.”
Booth space is $5, plus 10 percent of sales. The money goes toward the expense of maintaining and operating the building during the winter months.
