Young actors needed for Missoula Children's Theatre

January 30, 2012

It’s time once again for youthful area thespians to hone their theatrics and have a good time doing it.
Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre original adaptation of King Arthur’s Quest on Monday, Jan. 30, from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the Colville High School (CHS) auditorium.
Approximately 50 students, grades K-12, will be cast to appear in the show. No advanced preparation is necessary and all interested students are encouraged to audition.
Among the roles to be cast are King Arthur, Guinevere, Sir Lancelot, Merlin, Raven, Taleisin, Uther Pendragon, Mordred, Morgan Le Fey, Lady of the Lake, Knights, Damsels, Squires, Citizens of Camelot, and The Minis. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to assist with the technical aspects of the production.
Students wishing to audi¬tion should arrive at Colville High School between 3:00 and 3:15 with a signed permission slip, and must stay for the entire two-hour session. Audition information sheets and permission slips are available at most local schools. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a re¬hearsal immediately following the audition. Most cast mem¬bers will rehearse from 3:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Students must also be available all day Saturday, Feb. 4 for a dress rehearsal and performances at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
As in the past, this production will be run as a workshop for young actors and each participant who accepts a part after auditions is expected to pay a tuition fee. Students can offset this fee by selling tickets to the show; need based scholarships are available.
This production is part of the Missoula Children's Theatre's unique international touring project and is presented locally by Parents for the Performing Arts, Colville High School, and local sponsors. For information call Sandy Moore, 685-0478.
