Yvonne L. LaVigne

April 4, 2013

Yvonne LaVigne was born June 25, 1925 and passed away March 29, 2013. She was born at the family home in Chewelah to Cyrille and Vera (Spedden) LaVigne. Yvonne graduated from Jenkins High School in 1943. Yvonne was employed by Aldredges Grocery and SeaFirst Bank (30 years). She belonged to P.E.O. Sisterhood, Good Intent, and The Congregational Church (Chewelah UCC) as a life member. Yvonne participated in The Chewelah Peak Ski Club, the bowling team, Campfire Girls and enjoyed sharing with her investment club members.
Yvonne was raised with three brothers in a very active family who enjoyed all that her Northeast Washington playground had to offer. She liked to ski with her family on Chewelah Peak. They often spent many hours picking huckleberries, fishing and camping around our area. She loved to spend time with her niece and nephews and later with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren! Hugs and kisses were her specialty and her cards came to each and every one of them for important occasions. LaVigne family reunions were her favorite gatherings. While she loved to travel, it was the family home at Black Lake that she would most often travel to and continued to enjoy in her retirement. She lived in Chewelah until 2003 and then, joined her brother Norman and his wife Irene at their Black Lake home the remainder of her life. Her parents, Vera and Cyrille LaVigne and her 3 brothers, Gordon, Norman and Joe LaVigne, preceded her in death. She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Betty Lou LaVigne (Vermont) and Irene LaVigne, (Black Lake), her nephews Randy (wife Susan and children Jon Paul and Leta Ann), Steve, Ron LaVigne and her niece, Sherry LaVigne (and her children Christa Zamora-husband Karl and Craig Post-wife Amy). In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions in Yvonne’s name to the Chewelah United Church of Christ, PO Box PO Box 378, Chewelah, WA. Memorial Services to celebrate Yvonne’s life will be held at the Chewelah United Church of Christ on Saturday, April 13 at 10 a.m.
