You're invited to Chamber

Everyone is invited to attend Chamber meetings held on Tuesdays at noon at the Eagles Lodge on North Wynne Street. It is a no-host lunch with a speaker or program for each meeting. We try to publicize these meetings in advance so everyone can make plans to attend. If you would like to make a presentation of interest to the community, call Chamber office 684-5973. Germanwings Flight 9525 Crashes in French Alps With 150 People Onboard

An Airbus with 150 people onboard crashed in the southern French Alps on Tuesday, officials said. The A320, operated by Lufthansa’s budget airline Germanwings, was flying from Barcelona to Dusseldorf and went down in the Digne region of the Alps-De-Haute Province, according to Reuters. There were 144 passengers, two pilots and four crew members, Germanwings said. "We are sorry to confirm that flight 4U9525 is an accident," the airline said on Twitter.

Remaining Kettle Falls 5 acquitted of most charges

In what defense lawyers are hailing as a partial triumph, the three remaining members of the Kettle Falls Five were acquitted of four other charges in a marijuana case that has captivated the nation.
Rhonda Lee Firestack-Harvey, her son Roland Gregg and his wife, Michelle, were found guilty last Tuesday evening in Spokane Federal Court of growing between 50 and 100 marijuana plants on their 33-acre property northeast of Kettle Falls.
