Kettle Falls Police searching for robbery suspect

Law enforcement is searching for the suspect who robbed a Kettle Falls coffee stand on Tuesday, May 26. According to Kettle Falls Police Chief Chris Courchene, the robbery occurred at approximately 2:09 p.m. when a male dressed all in black and wearing a ski mask with a skull face entered Ms. B's Haven at Hwy. 395 320 E. Third, and demanded money from the till. The employee that was on shift told police the suspect was skinny with brown eyes and brandished a double-sided dagger with a dark handle.

Registered sex offender arrested for attempted kidnapping

COLVILLE—A Level 3 registered sex offender living in the Colville area was arrested in Whitman County after he allegedly attempted to kidnap an employee of the Jamin Java coffee shop in Colville. Arrested in Whitman County and transported to Stevens County Jail was Jason R. Foster, 41. He was booked into Stevens County Jail on charges of Assault 2nd and Kidnapping 1st, according to Colville Police Chief Bob Meshishnek. Chief Meshishnek said Colville officers responded to 898 S.

If it were financially feasible to convert an older building, particularly a church, into a more energy efficient establishment, would you do it?
For the board of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Colville, the answer was a no-brainer.
“Our treasurer looked at the numbers and basically said, ‘Why wouldn’t we do this?’” says Pastor Eric Ohrtman of the church’s solar panel installation project.
The project, which started as just an idea last October, is now a reality, with two rows of 14 280-watt solar panels lining the roof of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Dominion Avenue.
