Carolyn A. LaDuke-Hyde, 57, passed away Apr 9, 2011 after a one-year battle with cancer at her home in Honolulu, HI. Carolyn was born May 18, 1953 in Ione to Dale and Sylvia Anderson.
She attended school in Colville and graduated from Colville High School in 1971. She then attended college for one year at BYU-Hawaii, where she studied fashion. Carolyn moved back to Colville and lived there until 1992, when she left for Hawaii to work as an interior designer remodeling homes. In 2001, she started working as special projects and task manager for Straub Medical Clinic in Hawaii Kai.
Carolyn’s love in life was being a mother and she started her home daycare business for infants in 2009. Her love for children and teaching allowed Carolyn to fulfill her passion and she treasured the opportunity to develop young minds.
Carolyn enjoyed writing songs, poetry and exploring new opportunities. Her loving nature and gentle touch will forever be remembered as her true qualities.
She married her husband Jim in 2001 and they lived in their tropical tranquility together for the past 10 years, enjoying the love Hawaii and each other had to offer.
Carolyn loved the sights and smells of living in Hawaii, but she also loved the same about Washington. She enjoyed watching a sunrise or sunset by the beach with her husband Jim and bunny rabbit Chanel. She loved the Hawaiian trade-winds, the colors of Fall and the sounds of Spring in Washington, but most of all, she loved her family and especially looking at pictures of her only grandchild, Dalton.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Dale, in 1991.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher LaDuke and his wife, Margaret (Maryland); Michael LaDuke and his wife, Kim, and grandson, Dalton (Colville); husband, Jim Hyde (Honolulu); step-son, David Hyde, (Honolulu); step-daughter, Diana Hyde (Seattle); mother Sylvia Hegney and her husband, Dave (Colville); brothers, Dale Anderson and his wife Sharon, (Colville); Don Anderson and his wife, Linda, (Colville); Hank Anderson (Colville); half-sister Wanda Lee (Benton City; grandson Dalton and numerous aunts, uncles, step-brothers, step-sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
