The entry opportunities for the two youth shooting contests have been extended to insure the maximum number of kids have an opportunity to participate. In addition to pre-entering with the fair office, participants can also register the day of the event at the range.
Both the rimfire rifle and the shotgun event will be held at the Fort Colville Gun Club (303 Highway 20 East) on Saturday, August 18. Sign up for the rifle contest will begin at 8 a.m., with shooting starting at 9 a.m. The shotgun contest will begin at 1 p.m.
Rules and registration forms are available in the Fair Book, or registration forms will be available at the event.
Individual prizes by age group will be awarded for each contest. Youth may enter either or both contests. Individuals competing in both events will be eligible for the “Top Shot” prize. Medals and trophies will be award on Saturday, and the results of the contests will be posted during the fair.
“These are fun and challenging shooting contests open to all young shooters 8 through 18 years of age,” spokesman Jerry Cline said.
