More snow in the
forecast this week
It’s been snowing hard on Chewelah Peak and all signs point to a Black Friday (Friday, Nov. 23) opening at 49 Degrees North Ski and Snowboard Resort.
As of Monday afternoon, there was 24 inches of snow at the lodge and 41 inches at the summit. It was snowing steadily and seven inches of snow had fallen in the past 12 hours. New snow depth was nine inches at the lodge. Nineteen inches of new snow had fallen in the latest storm at the summit.
The temperature at the lodge was 30 degrees and the temperature on top was 27 degrees.
Skiers and boarders can expect heavy powder for the opener with more snowfall expected in this latest round of storms off the Pacific. Chairs 1,3,5 will be open on Friday (conditions permitting).
The number of trails and groomed trails will be limited.
Ticket prices (ages 18-69) are $52 for limited and $57 for unlimited. Youth (ages 7-17) are priced at $42 for limited and $48 for unlimited.
There are special discounts in place for military personnel and seniors.
