Bradley Clifford Lind, M.D., a 15-year resident of Colville, passed away on Feb. 2, 2013 in Boundary County, Idaho. He was born on Oct. 11, 1950 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clifford Milton and Laura Lee (Mudil) Lind.
Brad was raised and attended school in Chicago. He was active in sports and excelled at basketball. Following high school, Brad accepted a full ride basketball scholarship to Stanford University. There he began the pre-med program. He then studied medicine at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, where he received his B.M.S. Brad graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in internal medicine and began building a practice in the Minneapolis community.
In 1984, with his wife Janet and young daughter, Laura, he accepted a job with Group Health and moved to Tacoma. He practiced in Tacoma for ten years and before moving Kellogg, Idaho, where he worked at Shoshone Hospital. While in Kellogg, he met Lynn Bourgard, which began their six-year courtship.
In 1999, Brad and Lynn moved to Colville. On July 11, 2003 they were wed in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and returned to Colville where they have resided since. Brad was a partner at Northeastern Washington Medical Group Garden Homes Clinic for 13 years before joining Providence Mount Carmel Hospital as a hospitalist in May 2012.
Brad had a wonderful passion for life and for the lives of his family, friends and patients. He enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, hiking, skiing and countless hours of bocce ball. He loved to travel. He provided a professional level of care that was nothing less than truly personal. Brad enjoyed the challenges of patient care and the constant expansion of his medical knowledge. He embraced the opportunity to share this knowledge while working alongside doctors during their medical residency. Brad gave a lifetime of love to all in his life, including those he had only known for a moment. He found peace in the personal study of God’s word and offered that peace through his presence. Simply put, he was “energy incarnate.”
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Lind.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Lind, at the home; daughters, Laura Wells and her husband, Ben, Tacoma; Kirsten Lind, now of Germany; Ciara Roose, at the home; mother, Laura Lind, Chapel Hill, NC; brother, Fred Lind and his wife, Mary, Raleigh, NC; nieces, Caroline Lind and Marylaura Thomas.
