Barbara Ann Way, a lifetime resident of the Kettle Falls and Colville area, passed away on March 25, 2013. Born on December 15, 1948, the daughter of Cora Pearl Wright and George Lotze, Barbara comes from a large family with three sisters and five brothers. She went to Junior and Senior High School in Kettle Falls and Colville. On December 25, 1965, she married David Way. They had four children together: Shelley, Jeffery, Matthew and Brittany. She was a loving, supportive mother and wife. She was an “inventor of great of ideas” and extremely creative. In addition to being a homemaker, she established both an upholstery and custom doll business. She also managed fundraisers for the Johnson Christian School. She put her heart into her work and loved to help out her friends and family.
Barbara is survived by husband, David; her children Shelley, Jeffery, Matthew and Brittany; her daughter-in-law LeiLani; her two grandchildren, Nickolos and Megan; her brother and sisters; Bert Lotze, Dorothy Schauls, Marie-Lucy Ives, and Susan Lotze-Hall.
A memorial service will be held at the Colville Community Church Saturday April 6, at 2 p.m. followed by a “celebration of life” at the Colville American Legion Hall.
