Mary Margaret Trudell, 59 years, 10 months, 24 days, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Inchelium on Nov. 25, 2013. Mary was born Jan. 1, 1954 (the first New Year’s Baby of 1954) in Colville to Johnny and Violet Trudell.
She attended primary schools where her mother taught at Curlew, Onion Creek, Bruce Creek and 12 Mile.
Mary was rodeo queen in 1971 at Inchelium’s 11th annual Wild Horse Rodeo and she graduated from Inchelium High School in 1972. Later that year, Mary enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent over 21 years serving our country before retiring.
During Mary’s military career, she had tours of duty in Alabama, Germany, Korea, Georgia, California, Panama, Kuwait/Saudi Arabia and Hawaii. She served in Kuwait/Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War and had continued health issues after returning from that tour of duty. Mary spent her recent years as a caregiver to her beloved sister, Ann.
Her hobbies included growing flowers, caring for her dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, horses, pigs and cattle. She enjoyed genealogy and anything else to research on her computer.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Timothy Trudell.
She is survived by her sisters, Katherine (Don) Olson, Hood River, OR; Annie Trudell, Inchelium. brothers, John (Vicki) Trudell, East Wenatchee; Bill (Melonie) Trudell, Inchelium; nephews and nieces, Johnny Russell Trudell, Portland, OR; Chris Olson, Portland, OR; Travis Trudell, Yakima; Zack Trudell, CA; Stephanie Trudell, HI; Amanda Heinz, Gladstone, MO; Tana Trudell, Yakima.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date.
Danekas Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
