49 degrees North opens

CHEWELAH—49 Degrees North opened for the 2015-2016 season on Sunday to some heavy early December snowfall on the mountain.
The resort planned to operate chairlift’s one and three and the Hobbit Handle Tow. Bring the appropriate early-season equipment.
Full services are available, including lessons, rental and repair, retail, food and beverage.
Dates and times are subject to change (at the whim of Mother Nature), but the schedule calls for the resort to be open Friday through Tuesday (closed Wednesday and Thursday). For the holiday period of Dec. 18, 2015 through Jan. 5, 2016, the resort will be open seven days a week.
Night skiing is scheduled Dec. 26, Jan. 2, Jan. 16 and again Feb. 13.
Lift operating times are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
As of Sunday, there had been more than 10 inches of snowfall at the summit in the past 12 hours and seven inches at the lodge. Snow depth was approximately 10 inches at the lodge and 18 inches on top. It was snowing heavily (heavy powder).
