51st staters back at county commission meeting

A drive to create a new state out of 20 counties in eastern Washington is progressing well and winning support among the state’s residents, according to the Stevens County coordinator for the movement.
Rene Holaday said proponents of the plan to create a new state called “Liberty” have almost completed their tour of the state’s eastern counties to explain the effort, with a rally held last weekend in Clarkston for Asotin, Garfield and Columbia Counties.
