Thomas and Theresa Hostetler were sentenced to 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to several counts of animal cruelty at the Stevens County Courthouse on Oct. 27.

In May, more than 40 dogs and cats were rescued from the Hostetler's Deer Park property by Rescue4All, a non-profit organization based in Spokane, after a neighbor filed a complaint about barking to the Stevens County Sheriff's Office.

Both were sentenced to 60 days in jail with 304 days suspended for two years by presiding Judge Patrick Monasmith. Community service was not allowed in lieu of jail time. They are not allowed to own any animals for two years except for one cat that is their service animal.
