Medical Lake this week

Colville High used a fast start and a convincing second half performance to get past vastly improved Newport 35-14 in Northeast A League football action Friday night in Colville.
The Indians (3-2, 2-1) got a career-high 136 yards (20 carries) from senior Noah Bagley and 114 yards (13 carries) from fellow senior Brayden Flugel.
Colville rushed for 284 yards and passed for 30 more.
Defensively, the Indians, who had trouble corralling the best quarterback in the NEA this fall, sophomore Koa Pancho, got a stellar 14 tackle (seven solo and two battled balls) performance from linebacker Tristan Lewis.
CHS head coach Randy Cornwell was just glad to get out with an important NEA win. After all, this edition of the Grizzlies isn’t the one previous CHS teams have pushed around.
Colville will host cellar-dwelling Medical Lake (0-5, 0-3) on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
The Cardinals are coming off a 32-0 loss to previously winless Riverside (1-4, 1-3) last Friday at home.
