Bomb threat in Chewelah

Update: 4:25 p.m. Dec. 15: According to the Chewelah School District, Jenkins Jr./Senior High School will have classes on Friday. Police will have searched the whole building by the time school starts and will be present throughout the day. No word from Chewelah Police Chief Mark Burrows yet because he is busy conducting the bomb search.

Approximately at noon on Thursday, Chewelah's Junior and Senior High Schools were evacuated into Gess Elementary School because of a bomb threat.

School officials said a note was found in the Jenkins Jr. High and Sr. High boys’ locker room. According to the note, the threat was for Friday.

Law enforcement has been on scene conducting a search.
