Bulldogs drop two in NE2B

KETTLE FALLS—Kettle Falls High (1-7) dropped a pair of Northeast 2B volleyball matches last week.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to Davenport, 25-12, 25-14, 25-10 and to Northwest Christian, 25-8, 25-15, 25-8.
KFHS will host Springdale on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) and travel to St. George’s on Thursday (6:30 p.m.).
In the loss to Davenport, Ali Trenkle led KFHS with three kills. Mallory Pounds had two assists and six digs.
In the loss to NWC, Kennedy McKern had four kills and once ace serve. Sophie Keller had a pair of blocks.
Paige Dawson had eight kills for NWC (6-3, 7-5).
With one week left in league play, Wilbur-Creston is in the driver’s seat to earn the league title (NE 2B North) and top seed to the District 7 2B Tournament against the NE 2B South. The Wildcats are 8-0, 11-0.
Davenport (7-2, 9-2) is second and NWC is third.
From there, the talent pool drops appreciably. St. George’s is fourth at 2-5, 6-6 and Springdale is fifth (1-6, 4-7). Kettle Falls is 0-7, 1-7.
Wilbur-Creston d. NWC 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22. Colfax d. Reardan 25-13, 25-20, 25-10. Davenport d. Springdale 25-12, 25-15, 25-15 and Colfax d. Liberty 25-20, 25-21, 25-16.
In other match-ups involving NE 2B North and NE 2B South teams, Colfax downed Liberty 25-20, 25-21, 25-16 and Lind-Ritzville/Sprague beat Reardan 25-17, 26-24, 25-17.
Wilbur-Creston eased past St. George’s 25-9, 25-11, 25-13.
NWC beat St. George’s 25-14, 25-21, 25-14 and Wilbur-Creston downed Springdale 25-12, 25-11, 25-9.
